Personal Safety
Personal safety training helps organisations to create and maintain a safer working environment. Ken Moon & Associates offers a range of training solutions including a series of popular personal safety training seminars that take place throughout the year and include both open access and in-house seminars.
Personal Safety Training Courses
Personal safety training is one of the most effective ways of reducing the risk of violent and aggressive incidents occurring in the workplace. Our Training Consultants work with both management and staff to develop carefully tailored in-house training solutions.
Issues covered in talks and courses can include: assessing risk; developing personal safety policies and procedures; lone-working; home visits; travelling; cash handling; frontline working; responding to physical and verbal aggression; de-escalation and defusion techniques and post incident support.
Our unique tailored approach enables us to deliver training to people whatever their role or situation, using a wide variety of methods. This could range from a short awareness-raising workshop for five school crossing attendants to a rolling induction programme for a nationwide sales force.
We work with a wide variety of organisations including:
NHS Trusts - Schools and Colleges - Financial Institutions - Charities - Call Centres - Property Companies - Environmental Services - Benefit Agencies - Church Staff and Clergy - Local Authorities - Insurance Companies - Retail Organisations - Law Firms - Pharmaceutical Companies - Social Services - Transport Providers - Housing Associations
Personal Safety Talks
Talks are an excellent way to introduce and raise awareness of the subject of personal safety. They can focus on personal safety issues in the workplace or on more general concerns encountered in everyday life. Talks are particularly popular with organisations wishing to raise awareness and disseminate information to large groups quickly. Previous clients have also found them an ideal way to launch more in-depth personal safety training programmes.
Talks usually last between 1 - 1 ½ hours and can take place at a time convenient to you, for example: during a lunch break; as part of a new team's induction; at AGM's; after dinners; at conferences; in team-building sessions and as part of customer care and personal development programmes.
In-House Personal Safety Training Courses
In-house courses are our most popular method of training. In order to ensure a participant-centred approach with lots of discussion and active involvement, numbers are restricted to 15 participants. Everyone attending will receive course notes, written by the Training Consultants, as well as a copy of the relevant Suzy Lamplugh Trust booklet. For courses covering workplace issues the organisation will also receive a copy of our "Guidance for Employers".
Before a course takes place the Training Consultant will contact the person organising the training to discuss exactly what the course needs to cover. If necessary, the Training Consultants can also interview staff and management, (either individually or in focus groups), analyse pre-course questionnaires or study existing policies and procedures.
